When a Strategic Visual Becomes an Organisation's Legacy

One of the questions I'm asked most often is: "What happens after the workshop?"
My answer is always the same.
The real value of a strategic visual isn't the artwork itself – it's what happens when people believe in it and continue to use it.
That's exactly what happened with The Karma Collective.

From conversation to clarity
The Karma Collective wanted to capture the essence of who they are and where they were heading. Together, we facilitated a strategic visual storytelling process that distilled their guiding principles, values and vision into one shared visual.
The artwork wasn't created as a marketing piece. It was created as a thinking tool – a way to align all stakeholders, from community to team around a shared understanding of what mattered most.
A visual that kept working
Many workshop outputs are inspiring in the moment but quickly forgotten. This one wasn't. Over time, the artwork became woven into the organisation's everyday communication. It has informed presentations, design, storytelling and the way The Karma Collective shares its purpose with staff, partners and the wider community.
Founder Angharad Lubbock recently summed it up beautifully:
"Your artwork continues to be our flagship for design."
As a visual storyteller, there's no greater compliment.
The moment that made me smile
Recently, The Karma Collective celebrated their Social Enterprise recertification by reflecting on how far they'd come and where they were heading next. What I loved most wasn't simply seeing the artwork appear again.
It was learning that one of the Karma Collective team suggested making the visual a central part of telling that story.
That moment says everything. The artwork had moved beyond the workshop and beyond the founder. It had become something the whole team recognised as part of the organisation's identity.
To me, that's what strategic visual storytelling is all about. Not creating something beautiful for a day. Creating something meaningful enough that people continue to use it because it helps them communicate, make decisions and stay connected to their purpose.
See it in action
The Karma Collective recently shared a beautiful reflection on their journey as they celebrated their Social Enterprise recertification. Their guiding principles – and the strategic visual we created together – remain at the heart of that story.

Every organisation has a story worth drawing.
